WELCOME TO EPISODE 2

Corruption, money laundering, frauds, and breaches are out there.
We need to call our tech heroes to save the day:

Niklas will explain to us his distributed ledgers daily battles.
A covenant with the World Economic Forum has been agreed by Sebastian to fight corruption in the public sector. And Patrick will tell us how to tackle money laundering in the illegal wildlife trade using blockchain.

DISTRIBUTED LEDGERS TECHNOLOGY

Biases in aid delivery, P.A, and supply chains

This is a digital system for recording the transaction of assets in which the transactions and their details are recorded in multiple places at the same time. Unlike traditional databases, distributed ledgers have no central data store or administration functionality.

PUBLIC SECTOR CORRUPTION

A blockchain-based procurement system to face crimes

Worldwide, an estimated $9.5 trillion goes to public procurement. It is also estimated that between 10% to 30% of a public contract’s overall value is commonly lost to corruption. We’ll tell you how to fight it.

ILLEGAL WILDLIFE TRADE AND BLOCKCHAIN

How blockchain can contribute by assessing money laundering

The illegal wildlife trade (IWT) is a major transnational organized crime, which generates billions of criminal proceeds each year. IWT fuels corruption, threatens biodiversity, and can have a significant negative impact on public health and the economy. How can blockchain contribute by assessing this money laundering?
